During the Vierdaagsefeesten in Nijmegen – the festival programme that accompanies the famous four day marching event taking place every third full week of July and managing to turn the entire city of Nijmegen into a festival ground for a week – Galerie Bart has been asked to organise an art exhibition in the magnificent Stevenskerk. I have been invited by them to create a site specific installation in the church, and am very much looking forward to realising it. The installation will react on the special, sacral and formidable surrounding of the church. I have been working on the plans and preparations for this work for a while now and I can’t wait to start building and see the result in the church during the opening on 15 July. The exhibition will run from 16 to 23 July and will be open between 12:00 and 17:00. In the evenings, the installation can be admired during the special live music programme ‘Stevenskerklive‘ set up by Doornroosje.
